CLOTHING TIPS FOR BUSINESS PROFESSIONALS

We recommend wearing layers for your session. Blouses or button-down shirts with a blazer, cardigan or sweater over-top looks classy and modern. This also gives us the option of doing some shots with and without the top layer, adding to a greater proof selection.

The same goes for outfits with ties. We will take images with and without your tie, so you'll have the option of a business standard or business casual look when reviewing your proofs.

Avoid tops that are too high on the neck, such as turtlenecks. An open neck will give length to your face and make you look more slender. For women, also avoid tops that are too low. Too much cleavage can be distracting when presenting a professional headshot.

No matter what you choose, make sure that it's an outfit that makes you feel great and that gives your figure a tailored look!

CONSIDERING PATTERNS & SLEEVES

Solid colors, subtle stripes and polka dots photograph well.

Avoid logos and distracting patterns on the day of your photo shoot; they draw attention away from your face.

Sleeve length can vary, but there should be at least a cap sleeve.

Tank tops, sleeveless shirts, halter-tops and tube tops may show too much flesh in a headshot.

HAIR & MAKEUP TIPS FOR YOUR PHOTO SHOOT

Be ready with your hair and makeup styled for your session. As professional photographers, we will fix your hair and powder you if you are photographing with facial shine, but we do not provide hair and makeup application unless a Makeup Artist is requested.
